We're in Long Island, still relaxing at Marc and Barbara's place. Tonight they're going to take us on a tourist tour of New York and tomorrow we're going for a ride.
We were a little nervous coming into New York yesterday that we'd get hopelessly lost. We pulled over to recheck the map when a guy named Jim saw us and recognized us as hopelessly lost tourists. He said he knew the guy to help us, and Manny quickly showed up to point us in the right direction. Their directions were right on and we found our way to Long Island without a single wrong turn. We would have liked to stay and visit with Jim and Manny a little longer but Manny kept insisting we get on the road before the 3:00 traffic. It's a good thing we did! The 2:00 traffic was bad enough!
We've been surprised at how helpful people are. Usually before we even have to ask for help they can see the confused looks on our faces and come over and offer help.
This area is beautiful and green.

Great pictures! If you could put some captions as to which memorial or where you were, that would help you a year from now when you forget which is which because you've seen so much.
Oh yeah, it would help us "less fortunate" riding via the internet ;^)
